A child's first counting with a wooden abacus with 15 beads!
Counting on an abacus for children is a great way to develop intellectual abilities. Humanity has not yet come up with a better visual representation of the decimal calculation system than the abacus. By moving the beads, the child learns to compose numbers, quickly mastering the principles of addition and subtraction.
Playing with the abacus corresponds to the basic principles of the Montessori method.
The abacus game is:
- development of logic and thinking,
- training fine motor skills, sensory skills and distance estimation,
- creating first skills in counting and positive first ideas about the concept of "mathematics",
- education of purposefulness, patience and sequential thinking,
- solving simple examples in a playful way.
How to play?
Children move their fingers over the beads, learn colors and numbers from 1 to 10. The abacus helps develop fine motor skills, while also making pleasant sounds when quickly moving the wooden beads from one side to the other.
For children aged 2 and up, the game "Repeat according to the pattern" will be fun - you draw various patterns with colored crayons that the child repeats.
For children aged 3-4, we recommend solving simple mathematical problems.
